When JAN was requested to take care of the emergency calls when the diplomatic mission was closed, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was reviewing the conditions of the manual Mr. Kadono presented, Foreign Minister Taro Nakayama and his wife happened to be in Los Angeles on their way home from the visit to South America. Mr. and Mrs. Nakayama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stopped by JAN during their stay, they were surprised to hear that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested JAN to operate when the diplomatic mission was closed. Mr. Kadono received a call from Mr. Nakayama saying"It seems that it will start soon, the person in charge of the Japanese Protection Division was surprised when I told that I knew you."
